PrP^C was detected by Western blotting with biotinylated 4F2 MAb. Lanes SM and Lu were loaded with PrP^C immunoprecipitated from the same amount of tissue extract, while lane Br represents PrP^C obtained from a third tissue equivalent of brain than skeletal muscle and lungs. Note that the nonglycosylated PrP^C isoform in the lungs migrated with a reduced molecular mass.
