
Postgraduate Student Conference Grants
Purpose
The Postgraduate Student Conference Grants contribute towards the costs accommodation, registration and travel of SGM Postgraduate Student Associate Members in attending one Society Conference each year.
Rules
- The scheme is open to postgraduate students (PhD or Masters) who are paid-up Postgraduate Student Associate Members of SGM and currently residing in a European Union country.
- Applicants may claim for:
- up to £25 towards travelling costs
- a contribution of up to £50 per night towards cost of bed and breakfast accommodation
- Associate Member early-bird registration fee
NB the early booking deadline for registration to attend the Edinburgh Meeting is 6 August 2010.
Grants will not cover the extra cost of registering after this date and applicants will be responsible for this cost (£10 per day).
- Grants are limited to attendance at ONE only of the meetings listed below:
- Edinburgh International Conference Centre, 29 March - 1 April 2010
- Irish Division Conference, National University of Ireland, Galway - 15-16 April 2010
- Irish Division Conference, National University of Ireland Maynooth, Co. Kildare
- 2-3 September 2010
- University of Nottingham 6 - 9 September
2010
- Applications must be made before the start of the meeting. No retrospective claims will be accepted.
- Grant recipients who do not attend the meeting will be required to repay the grant in full.

Undergraduate Student Members of the SGM planning to attend an SGM meeting must apply for a grant using the appropriate form.
